Workplace Mentoring Internship Program

A partnership of C-U One-to-One Mentoring and the C-U Business Community

A Model for School-Business Partnerships

Program Objective: To provide Champaign-Urbana high school students involved in the C-U One-to-One Mentoring Program an opportunity for intensive workplace mentoring with a focus on teaching work habits, work skills and helping the individual student to discover the various opportunities available to them in a specific employment area.

Plan: The business will offer 1-3 students involved in the mentoring program the opportunity to work alongside a manager or director for a period of six weeks in the summer on a full time basis (hours approximately 8:00-5:00 with a one hour lunch; to be finalized between the student and the business mentor). June 15-July 24, 2009 are the suggested dates.

January, 2009, will be the 8th annual National Mentoring Month.

Mentor Breakfast at the Vineyard Church Cafe, 1100 N. Lincoln, Urbana. Bring a friend who's interested in making a difference in a young person's life!

Thursday, January 22nd: Thank Your Mentor Day
